KALAMAZOO TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Police say an 18-year-old has been charged after shots were fired into a Kalamazoo Township apartment.
Around 2 p.m. on May 30, Township of Kalamazoo police officers responded to the 1900 block of Colgrove Avenue, near Elkerton Avenue, for a report of gunshots in an apartment building, according to a release from the police department.
When officers arrived on scene, they found that an apartment door had been shot into. The occupant was not hurt, the release says.
Witnesses saw a person running away, police say. Over the following days, detectives worked to find a suspect.
On Friday, 18-year-old Cameron Wilson, of Kalamazoo, was arrested, according to the police department.
Police say Wilson was charged the same day with the discharge of a firearm in or at a building, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, possession of ammunition by a prohibited person and two counts of felony firearm.
Wilson’s bond was set at $100,000 cash/surety, according to the police department.
