DEARBORN COUNTY, Ind. — A woman is facing a felony charge after being accused of battering a child in southeastern Indiana.
Indiana State Police arrested Amy Katenbrink, 50, Thursday following the conclusion of an investigation that began in March of this year.
ISP said the investigation into Katenbrink began when the ISP-Versailles Post was contacted by the Indiana Department of Child Services regarding a juvenile child who Katenbrink had allegedly battered at a residence on March 13 in the city of Aurora in Dearborn County.
Detectives observed “visible” injuries on the child during their investigation, which eventually led them to identify Katenbrink as a possible suspect.
The Dearborn County Prosecutor’s Office subsequently approved a warrant for Katenbrink’s arrest for battery on a child with bodily injury, which is a level 5 felony. Katenbrink was arrested Thursday at her residence without further incident.
